The basics of how Barrett Web Studio works with clients, from inquiry through launch.
About this website
This website provides general information about Barrett Web Studio's services, pricing, portfolio work, and how to get in touch. Content may be updated at any time.
Inquiries do not create a client relationship
Submitting an inquiry, asking a question, requesting an estimate, or scheduling a consultation does not create a binding client relationship and does not require you to purchase anything.
How payment works
Projects are agreed in advance and invoiced through the client portal. Invoices are paid by Venmo to the account listed in the portal. An invoice is marked paid only after Barrett Web Studio confirms the payment was received. If a project falls outside the selected package, Barrett Web Studio will discuss the scope and any additional price with you before performing additional paid work.
Custom and inquiry-based projects
Projects generally use a 50% deposit to begin and the remaining 50% before launch, unless the written project agreement states otherwise. Advanced projects start at $600 and are quoted based on scope.
Project agreements
Project-specific scope, deliverables, price, timeline, included pages, included functionality, revision rounds, responsibilities, payment expectations, and other project details may be confirmed in a written project agreement.
Pricing
Current package pricing is Single Page $150, Starter $250, Small Business $350, Professional $450, and Advanced starting at $600. Advanced and custom projects may cost more depending on the scope of the work.
Additional pages
Additional standard pages beyond the number included in a package are $50 per page.
Additional work
Work beyond the included revision rounds or the agreed project scope may be available at $30/hour. Barrett Web Studio will discuss any additional work and its cost with you before performing additional paid work.
Taxes
Advertised prices are the amounts invoiced. Any tax that applies to a project will be discussed and stated on the invoice before payment.
Website Care Plan
The Website Care Plan is an optional month-to-month plan of $89/month, invoiced each month through the client portal and paid by Venmo. It continues month to month until cancelled, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid month. Included services are limited to those listed on the Services & Pricing page, including up to one hour of website edits per month; unused edit time does not roll over. Major redesigns, new pages, advanced features, third-party fees and subscriptions, and other substantial work are quoted separately.
Client portal
Clients may be given access to a private client portal where they can view appropriate project information, project status, revision requests, invoices, payment status, and care plan information. Clients are responsible for using their portal sign-in links and credentials appropriately and for keeping them private.
Payment processing
Payments are sent through Venmo, a third-party payment service, under Venmo's own terms and privacy practices. Barrett Web Studio does not collect or store card or bank details. This website records only the invoice amount, its status, and the date a payment was confirmed.
Cancellations and refunds
If you need to cancel a one-time website project, contact Barrett Web Studio as soon as possible. Refund eligibility, if applicable, may depend on whether work has begun, work already completed, third-party costs already incurred, the applicable written project agreement, and applicable law. Website Care Plan cancellations take effect at the end of the current paid month.
Project changes
Changes to project scope, additional pages, custom functionality, or other work outside the original agreement may affect the price or the timeline. Any additional charges are discussed before that work begins.
Client-provided materials
Clients are responsible for having the appropriate rights, permissions, or licenses for the materials they provide, including photos, logos, graphics, videos, written content, brand assets, and other media.
Third-party services and costs
Domains, hosting, email services, premium software, paid integrations, subscription services, and other third-party expenses are not included in package pricing unless specifically stated in the written project agreement.
Custom functionality
More complex functionality may require a custom quote. Examples include large ecommerce stores, membership systems, custom databases, custom web applications, advanced booking systems, complex API integrations, extensive professional copywriting, full branding work, and major ongoing SEO campaigns.
Revision rounds
A revision round means one consolidated set of requested changes submitted after you review the website. Each package includes a set number of revision rounds, listed on the Services & Pricing page.
Project work and ownership
Ownership and permitted use of the final project work are defined in the individual written project agreement for each project.
Website availability
Barrett Web Studio works to keep this website available and accurate, but does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every piece of information will always be error-free or current.
Limitation of liability
This website is provided for informational purposes. To the extent permitted by law, Barrett Web Studio is not liable for losses resulting from reliance on general website information. Responsibilities for an actual project are governed by that project's written agreement.
